- I have been a Christian since April, 1974. Deborah and I were married August 4, 1979. She received her BS in Speech Pathology from the University of Southern Mississippi. Deborah is a full time housewife. We have three children. Candace and her husband Chris McDowell make their home in Canton. Candace is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and an Administrative Assistant at First Baptist Canton. Chris works for Toyo Tires in White, GA. Lana is a Senior at Kennesaw State University where she is a Psychology major. She plans to attend New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She and Candace are founders of "Agapetos Ministries", a ministry to adolescent girls. Seven years ago they started "Pillars," a discipleship ministry for girls. They and their team disciple over a hundred girls each week. My son Taylor is a senior at Cherokee High School. He beleives God has called him into worship ministry. He leads a worship band called "Crushed With Longing." I have been the Senior Pastor or First Baptist Church, Canton, Georgia since November 1997.
